Heide Hagebölling-Eisenbeis is author, artist and designer in the field of media-scenography and interactive dramaturgy that incorporates new narrative modes.

In partnership with Manfred Eisenbeis, she conceptualised and co-founded the Academy of Media Arts Cologne/Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln KHM 1988 – 1990. Since 1990 she taught at the KHM and developed the interdisciplinary field of media-scenography and interactive dramaturgy that embraces new modes of narratives in space. International publications, lectures, presentations and exhibitions on this topic.

Curriculum Vitae

Studies in art, design, art history and theory of visual communication at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach (Dipl. Des.). Film Studies at the Tisch School of Arts, New York University. Communication and media sciences at the Annenberg School of Communications, University of Pennsylvania (MPhil).

HHE worked and lectured at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University, Frankfurt and the University of Heidelberg. She hold a 2-years guestprofessorship at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach where she established with Manfred Eisenbeis and the filmmaker Werner Nekes the Film- and Video-Art Section. During her professorship at the Polytech Rheinland-Pfalz, Trier, she founded the Dept. of Interdisciplinary Design and Media.

As a member of the Arbeitsgruppe Medienentwicklung-Medienforschung AGM/Group of Media Development and Research she was involved in several studies on mediaculture and she developed and designed new applications and content for interactive net-based media systems for museums, exhibitions and artistic applications.

Since the 1980ies her academic and artistic work focuses on the interrelationship of art, design, new media and culture. In cooperation with Manfred Eisenbeis she organized international colloques for the UNESCO, Paris i.a.

Babel – the Myth of Human Understanding in Art, Science and Technology, 1992.
